Forrest Rodgers - Transforming Organizations in Spokane and Beyond
Forrest Rodgers currently provides pro bono counsel to universities and nonprofit organizations in Spokane. He advises on strategic visioning, business and funding model alignment, board and donor engagement, and major gift fundraising. Forrest Rodgers focuses on helping institutions in Spokane plan for growth and build effective fundraising strategies.
Mr. Rodgers recently served as executive director of the Moab Museum, where he led a multi-year effort to reposition the organization from a small-town attraction to a regional museum that operated under established professional standards. During this time, he secured private donations and state grants to support exhibitions, K-12 education programs, and community initiatives. He worked with the board president to establish a $3.5 million operating reserve fund using proceeds from a donated property. Forrest Rodgers also secured a charitable estate gift that included real estate, cash, and a collection of Navajo and regional art.
Earlier, Mr. Rodgers served as executive director of the Eastern Washington State Historical Society, which operates the NW Museum of Arts and Culture. He oversaw a Smithsonian-affiliated and accredited institution focused on regional history and art. Mr. Rodgers secured multiple five and six-figure gifts to support exhibitions and public programs. He further coordinated with the foundation board and investment managers to oversee the museum’s endowment and implemented changes that increased earned income by improving the visitor experience.
Forrest Rodgers also served as president and CEO of the High Desert Museum, where he completed a $23.5 million capital campaign, expanded facilities, and introduced new donor development programs.
